Parking places and Story Threads weaving the How

How hard would it be to add parking places to a parking lot. The most present difficulty I could imagine would be making the paint appear faded enough. This could be accomplished with a lighter tint of yellow, or by laying down sand and twigs to make cracks and the like appear, an illusion of weather and time. Character progression is the evolving how throughout the story being told. Gaming has found popular Hows over time, guns, swords, sprinting, and chest high walls. Making the how interact with the story is what I am currently grappling with as a DM while people make up their own classes. Having seeds of plot that weave everyone together in vastly complex and deep ways makes all their interpersonal decisions seem far more important. The son of the Steward to the Deep Below approached the last son of Gallen, who struck the Bell that Rang Once, and asked to borrow his handkerchief. The people in my campaign get to grapple with these huge primordial forces, knowing that they...

Ambition.

I am excited. There are many reasons. Story telling has never before seen such a potential for empathy. Video games succeed as an art form when they show you a world, and the choices you make, are the ones that a person in that situation would make. The bard would have you know that the task of a story teller, is to set your words adrift upon the ocean of interpretation. You check them for leaks and reinforce the hull, so that they can be heard and sail through storms of apathy and ambiguity. We now can create worlds. People can then enter the craft, see things that we show them and engage like a person would. Not only that we can assign character to the persona they inhabit. Mass Effect takes this and hits the ground running. You are the hero, Commander Sheppard. The how is left to you, and has lead to the idiom regarding "Your Shepard," or "My Shepard." The differences in how people achieve the same goals within the story add to its intricacy, and carry clou...

Youtube banned.

If an entire country decided to ban YouTube, good for them. I kind of liked the effort necessary to talk to someone about ideas, rather than sending them adrift in a sea of likes, fails, and lol ur gay's. (he said on his blog) While it is a useful tool for people partaking in civil disobedience, and the rating system helps raise things raise things that are popular, those things are rarely insightful. Youtube is a great place for talented people to share what they do, or people who are trying to make a point. I guess if you want the parkour, the dance, the speed painting, the spoken word, and the eco-blogs, you need the cats, the minecraft journals and the frag videos.

prophetic dream

Don't laugh. I stood before a crowd thousands. In a building most odd. Imagine an opera house and its balconies, except themed into a basketball stadium. Come on and slam, if you wanna jam. I had a microphone and started doing what I do. People cheered. Feels good man I had to sleep in till noon for a dream that good.

Insight.

Normally I try to make these things have a point so that an outside observer could see their worth, even if they do not immediately agree with the view. I don't have any of that tonight. I have an oral presentation on the physiology of love due in around ten hours. I have every regret of a break up weighing upon me, all the doubt and want of a second chance, and caffeine coursing through me so as to not want to sleep, and take the edge off. I get to look at the neurotransmitters responsible for the three scientifically examined stages of love. Wonder what I fucked up. What we fucked up? I have an exclamation that has so many consonants in it, it could be mistaken for something in Klingon. "Kraggddgnngghhtttkkkrr" All I have is myself, and some angst and drama, which are also me. Writing this is me. All this sad shit I have been feeling for the past two weeks, general depression and pangs of loneliness every time I see the two of them together, is also, as stated before, m...

Zack Snyder is sensational

And that is bad. It is all he is. After watching several Zack Snyder films, (punctuated by sucker punch) I see lots of interesting visual choices he makes. He is great at making visually heavy scenes, without emotional weight. He builds intensity, expertly, without any big thoughts behind it. This is why his movies sell, and are "really cool" but lack a driving idea or larger umph
